Approach
The most important parts of our science are the people in our group and those with whom we collaborate. As such, we believe in the power of collaboration to bring the strength of committed and thoughtful scientists to address questions of significance to human disease.
Within this framework, we seek to integrate orthogonal, yet complimentary methodologies to develop both a breadth and depth of expertise.
Human Genetics
We believe that thoughtful analyses of human genetic datasets can define biologically interesting and clinically relevant hypotheses that can be tested in the laboratory. To this end, we collaborate with numerous groups to study large cohorts for which genetic data is readily available as well as develop and sequence our own internal cohorts.
Model Systems
We use genetically engineered mice to model and study clonal hematopoiesis and malignancy. We have developed and utilize numerous hematopoiesis and leukemia models as part of our research studies. While limited, we believe that cell line models are a critical tool within the lab to interrogate many biological processes and validate findings observed in human disease and other model systems.
Functional Screening
We have extensive experience and expertise in a variety of functional genetic approaches including CRISPR/Cas9 screening and saturating mutagenesis to interrogate model systems. We also perform various small molecule studies, ranging from large scale screens to targeted approaches. In these regards we have worked extensively with different programs at the Broad Institute of MIT and Harvard.
